Divine Intervention Ministries
Adoration partners with Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church, 125 West Saveland, Milwaukee, to help with their various ministries, like Divine Intervention Ministries, in caring for those who are homeless.
During the pandemic we are working with their Hungry Hearts Community Meals ministry, handing out meals prepared by local restaurants to those in need. The meals are distributed each Saturday from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. outside the Damascus Gate Restaurant, 807 West Mitchell Street, Milwaukee.
We are also participating in their Sharing Our Suppers (SOS meals) Program and help in the preparation of 45 bagged lunches. Each includes two meat and cheese sandwiches, fruit, chips, breakfast bars and dessert. We distributed these lunches along with 60 hot meals donated by various restaurants. This ministry will now include bag lunches for the Larry Under the Bridge program.
We help with making and serving the bag lunches. If you would like to donate or volunteer for the lunches, please email Janet or phone 414-699-5989.
Ascension Food Ministry
Adoration is in partnership with Ascension Lutheran Church’s Food Ministry. When we are in our church building, we collect nonperishable food items that are then delivered to Ascension’s Food Pantry. During this pandemic, we have collected monetary donations and occasionally nonperishable food items for Ascension’s Food Pantry.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps people in your community and around the world build or improve a place they can call home. The volunteers help built or rebuild homes in the Milwaukee area and collect needed tools. Habitat ReStores are home improvement stores that accept small and large donations of new or gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, building materials and more. Proceeds from the sales of these items help Habitat’s work in your community and around the world.
Eras Senior Network (Previously Southwest Interfaith)
Eras Senior Network is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage and support seniors, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers in leading meaningful lives. Seniors and adults with disabilities are supported by volunteers of all ages to help them maintain their independence. Eras helps individuals 55 and older stay engaged in their community through a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities. The need for a rebranding of Interfaith’s name and look was one of the outcomes of the Strategic Plan process, started in 2014. The new name, Eras Senior Network, represents all of the congregations, corporations, individuals, schools, and community groups that serve as a network of support for the community members that we serve. An era is also defined as a distinctive period in someone’s life – which is a reflection on how our services and programs support and engage seniors in the important eras of their life.
The Eras Senior Network assumed operations of Milwaukee County’s Neighborhood Outreach Program and is serving Milwaukee County seniors ages 60 and above. Services include transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, seasonal yard cleanup, wellness calls, and more. 13 staff members were hired run the Milwaukee County program called Faith in Action.

Meru Global Partner
Adoration participated in the Synod-wide joint day of prayer with our brothers and sisters in the Meru Diocese, Tanzania. Across the miles we celebrated our partnership through song, offering and most importantly prayer. Thank you to all who contributed to the love offering. We raised $400 for the Professional Education Fund, which provides financial aide to pastors, evangelists and teachers seeking to complete a certification or degree. Thank you also to those who purchased Tanzanian items from the Third World Shoppe, which we had on display. All monies from those sales will go to the Synod Meru Partnership Committee, who will use it to support needs identified by the Meru Diocese. Asante sana!
